If you decide to organize your trip yourself, you won't have obviously enough time to discover the whole country. These pages could perhaps help you in your circuit choice.

Note 2: The minimum time needed to do a little tourism is, according to me, one week (not including international transport).

Your trip, if you don't come by ground from any surrounding country, will begin and finish inevitably in Lima; so circuits will have this city as a departure and arrival point.
Altitude needs some time for adaptation. Never go from 0 to more than 3.500 m in one trip (by plane), it would be very fatiguing, maybe dangerous. Plan this while preparing the circuit.
Altitude fatigues. Do not plan anything just after landing.
The roads between main towns are in general in good conditions (plan approximately an average of 90 km per hour). Smaller roads are not in very good conditions (plan approximately 30 km per hour). Minor roads and paths (there are still a lot of them) will often make you feel grateful for renting a mountain 4x4 truck; roads are often broken or flooded.
But in general, a vigilant and careful driving is important (because of other cars, holes, herds and flocks or isolated animals, stones, rivers and others).
Airlines have now just one flaw: uncertainly flights and schedules. Here also, to calculate very tight your trips and excursions is risky.
Never drive by night in a rural area around big cities. It is still a little risky.

You have from 11 to 14 days

Coast at the sea level and altitude (4.100 m maximum)

You have from 15 to 21 days

It's great to see all the interesting things. For this kind of trip you can see Lima, the natural reserves, the pre-Inca and Inca sites, the markets and the handcraft and the Titicaca Lake, the nature, the wild condors and the Amazon.
