José Jerí is a Peruvian lawyer and politician who assumed the presidency of Peru between 2025 and 2026, during a period of profound national transition. Before reaching the highest office in the nation, Jerí became known as a member of the Congress of the Republic, having been elected in 2021 representing the Somos Perú party.
Representing a political line often described as centrist and pragmatic, Jerí distinguished himself in Parliament through his willingness to engage in dialogue and consensus-building in a highly fractured political climate.
