Drinks: Chicha Morada
Ingredients
- 1 kilo of purple corn
- 1 ripe pineapple
- 3 quinces, cut into pieces
- 2 chopped apples (optional)
- 3 cloves
- Cinnamon
- 4 liters of water
- Lemon juice
- Sugar to taste
Preparation
Wash the purple corn well and boil it in a large amount of water along with the pineapple peel, quinces, cloves, and cinnamon. Boil until the corn kernels burst. Remove from heat, let cool, and strain.
When ready to serve, add sugar and lemon to taste. You can also serve it with diced apples if you wish. Once the preparation is done, the color will become more intense.
Note: This beverage can be stored and consumed for several days. Simply refrigerate it before adding the lemon juice and sugar to prevent fermentation.
